About the Role:

The Clinical Pharmacist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of infusion therapy to patients in alternate care settings. This role involves assessing and monitoring medication therapy in relation to the comprehensive needs of the patient while working alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with rotating on-call duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience/Education:
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Current pharmacist license
  • Clinical pharmacy experience from previous employment or clinical rotations
  • Proficient in essential software applications (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Able to manage a dynamic and evolving work environment while maintaining composure
  • Capable of collaborating effectively with all members of the Palmetto Infusion/AccuRX team
Essential Functions:
  • Reviews, processes, and verifies all patient orders and prescriptions in accordance with established policies and state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Supervises Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Support Technicians, and Pharmacy Logistics Technicians
  • Participates in an on-call rotation for after-hours support for home or outpatient infusion
  • Maintains competencies relevant to assigned responsibilities
  • Ensures active licensure and compliance with continuing education requirements
  • Serves as a resource for drug information for internal staff and external referrals
  • Provides thorough patient counseling for those who accept and request pharmacy consultations
  • Evaluates clinical data, including relevant laboratory results and patient information, to ensure safe medication administration
  • Complies with all federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Clarifies and processes orders from physicians or authorized medical agents

Physical Demands:
  • The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While fulfilling the duties of this role, the employee may frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear. There may be extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include reading, distance vision, computer vision, and color vision. Effective communication with patients, vendors, and staff is essential.
