Child Heart Specialist

Under minimal supervision, delivers and oversees direct medical care for a designated pediatric population.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivers and oversees direct patient care, encompassing physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified pediatric demographic. 2. Prescribes medications, treatment plans, and other therapeutic interventions as deemed appropriate based on evaluated medical conditions. 3. Refers patients to other specialists and relevant healthcare components as necessary. 4. Provides training and oversight to medical students and residents involved in specialized activities and procedures, as applicable. 5. May oversee the daily operations of a particular medical program, patient care unit, or research initiative. 6. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support personnel as required. 7. Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as continuous quality improvement goals and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. 8. As relevant to the role, engages in designated health promotion, education, and/or prevention initiatives. 9. Performs various job-related tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in observing, assessing, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Familiarity with legal and ethical standards governing medical care delivery.
- Knowledge of pertinent medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, along with the ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients on proper usage.
- Capacity to uphold quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Awareness of community medical diagnostic and patient care services within the area of expertise.
- Understanding of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for delivering medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in the area of specialization.
- Ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to supervise, advise, and mentor clinical professionals and/or students in the area of expertise.
- Ability to develop and deliver educational programs and/or workshops.
Medical degree with 3 to 5 years of directly relevant experience, which may include residency in a related medical specialty.
