Role Summary:
The Grants Management Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the pre-award processes involved in the planning, organization, preparation, assembly, and submission of research grant applications to both private and public funding bodies, as well as industry partners. Additionally, this role manages the post-award administration of research grants and sponsored projects, including clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist investigators in identifying and developing suitable grant opportunities.
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) and staff on grant development activities, maintaining communication with funding agency representatives and conducting thorough funding opportunity research.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and institutional policy requirements through effective interaction with investigators and administrative personnel.
- Engage with Institute leadership, principal investigators, study teams, hospital staff, and external organizations to facilitate grant processes.
- Work closely with financial and billing coordinators to ensure adherence to all aspects of study financial management.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Technical Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of complex medical principles, practices, and terminology is essential.
- Preferred experience in engaging with various organizational levels.
- Background in healthcare revenue cycle management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) or equivalent software is mandatory, along with experience in grant and financial management reporting tools.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in accounting or business is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in grants and sponsored research within a healthcare or academic environment is required.
- Supervisory Experience: None required.
- Experience in research grant management, budgeting, and accounting is essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written), problem-solving, and accounting skills are necessary.
- Proven ability to manage and report on the administrative and financial aspects of research grants and contracts at various stages of development and execution.
