Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Grants Coordinator to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the pre-awards planning, organization, preparation, assembly and submission of research grant and sponsored projects applications to private and public funding agencies and industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to investigators in the identification and development of grant opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Principal Investigators (PI) and staff on grant development activities; establish and maintain contact with the funding agency representative and conduct funding opportunity research.
  • Interact with investigators and administrative staff to ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements.
  • Collaborate with the financial coordinator, billing coordinator and accounting to ensure conformity and compliance with all aspects of study financial management.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years grants and sponsored research experience in health or academic setting required.
  • Experience with research grant management, budgeting and accounting required.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member and independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), problem solving and accounting skills are required.
