About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team at Johnny's Selected Seeds. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for managing existing commercial growers and developing new business with additional growers in the Southeast territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Create and implement a territory-specific annual sales plan that aligns with Johnny's Selected Seeds' overall company goals and mission.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships with growers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and develop customized solutions.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and report on competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, shipping fees, merchandising, volume, etc.
  • Customer Support and Education: Work with growers to support product trials, identify new product and service opportunities, and provide educational resources and support.
  • Travel and Representation: Represent Johnny's Selected Seeds at regional trade shows, conferences, and conduct grower visits to build relationships and promote products.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in horticulture, sustainable agriculture, or related science field, or 1-2 years of hands-on farm work experience. 3-5 years of wide territory field sales experience.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, including ability to build strategic business plans and execute.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Solid communication skills, with ability to work effectively as part of a geographically spread team.
  • Customer Focus: Customer-first mindset, with ability to deliver at the highest levels of customer service.
