Job Purpose

The Custodian II is responsible for executing cleaning and maintenance duties associated with the upkeep of buildings and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of designated facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, communal areas, gyms, and hallways.
  • Operate company vehicles to transport equipment, supplies, recyclables, and waste across campus.
  • Regularly restock dispensers and manage daily waste and recycling removal.
  • Prepare and maintain facilities for classes, conferences, and events.
  • Possess knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, supplies, and equipment relevant to floor care and custodial tasks.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow safety instructions for hazardous materials.
  • Exhibit punctuality, readiness for emergency situations, and flexibility to meet diverse customer service needs.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and be capable of working overnight shifts in various buildings.

Qualifications and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of general custodial experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in floor care.
  • Basic computer proficiency for email communication and online systems.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in custodial roles within an educational environment.
  • Familiarity with diverse student populations.
  • Background in customer service.
  • 3 years of experience in floor care preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours.
  • Capability to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Must have adequate hearing and vision for safety and communication purposes.

Work Schedule

  • Hours may vary based on operational needs.
  • Typical summer hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
  • Typical fall hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
