Job Title: Registered Behavioral Technician

Job Summary:

The Leavenworth Unified School District 453 is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Behavioral Technician to join our team. As a Registered Behavioral Technician, you will play a critical role in providing behavioral support services to students with autism, serious emotional disabilities, and other developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Direct Student Instruction: Provide direct student instruction and assist staff with implementation in one-on-one and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment teaching arrangements.
  2. Assist with Staff Training: Assist with staff training of student's individualized treatment and behavior change protocols, through direct teaching, modeling, and fidelity checks.
  3. Collect and Record Data: Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior, assist with skill acquisition and behavioral assessments, and collect data on all programming.
  4. Document Interventions and Progress: Document interventions, progress data, and session notes.
  5. Communicate with Staff: Communicate with staff regarding student progress as instructed by the BCBA, collaborate with school teams, and attend IEP meetings as necessary.

Requirements:

  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, special education, or related field preferred.
  2. Experience: Two years' experience in a school setting, working with students with behavior challenges, including students with Autism, SED, and other developmental disabilities.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to Sit and Stand: Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  2. Ability to Enter Data: Ability to enter data into a computer, to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without visual aids.
  3. Ability to Hear and Understand Speech: Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors, and on the telephone.
  4. Ability to Speak: Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone.
  5. Ability to Travel: Ability to travel within the district.
  6. Physical Agility: Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height.
  7. Ability to Bend and Stoop: Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk, and reach overhead.

  10. Obtain Approval: Obtain advance approval of the Principal for all activities and expenditures.
  11. Adhere to Health and Safety Policies: Adhere to all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan and Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI).
