Job Summary:
As a Mobile Technician II, you will be tasked with conducting intermediate service and repairs on J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, or power equipment.

This role operates outside of the workshop, providing services at customer locations or rail yards utilizing our mobile service truck.


Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:


With supervision, execute essential preventive maintenance tasks, including but not limited to tire replacements, brake adjustments, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on trailer chassis and sub-frames.

Adhere to all safety protocols while working at customer sites or rail yards.
Professionally operate the assigned service truck, ensuring it is clean and well-stocked as per company standards.
Accurately complete work orders and other documentation in line with established procedures.
Document any damage to company equipment to facilitate repair cost recovery.

Demonstrate basic proficiency in using cutting torches and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, and brackets.

Seal holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs to ensure they are watertight.
Conduct annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections under the guidance of a certified technician as required.

Qualifications:
Minimum
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years for equipment over 10,000 lbs.
AND Demonstrate the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military service, or other experiences.
Maintain a clean motor vehicle record as per J.B. Hunt guidelines.
Possess basic tools or opt to purchase through our toolbox purchase program.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if necessary.
Preferred
Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or a combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.

DOT certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes.
Welding certification.
Forklift certification and experience.
EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license.
Ability to effectively communicate and interpret ideas through various mediums.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to utilize time and resources effectively.
Ability to meet physical requirements (lift/move items up to 50 pounds).
Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE).
The expected starting pay range for this position is between $37.91 per hour.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates located outside a specified radius of the job.


Compensation:


Factors influencing starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable.
