Job Responsibilities

The B Mechanic is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities associated with the C Mechanic role, as preventative maintenance is fundamental to our Mobile Maintenance program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine repairs on drivetrains, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems of mobile equipment.
  • Exhibiting a thorough knowledge of 12 and 24 Volt Electrical Systems, Air Systems, Hydraulic Systems, and Power Transmission Systems to diagnose and rectify equipment issues.
  • Changing hydraulic cylinders on equipment safely.
  • Disassembling major components from equipment as needed.
  • Identifying when equipment is functioning correctly post-corrective maintenance.
  • Reading parts and service manuals to determine necessary parts for ordering.
  • Fabricating and installing hydraulic hoses.
  • Recognizing when additional diagnosis is required and seeking assistance for complex issues.
  • Diagnosing and resolving common failures in mobile equipment.
  • Repairing or rebuilding minor components, such as brake systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • 2-4 years of prior mechanical experience.
  • The physical capability to perform heavy labor.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude.
