Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for maintaining, calibrating, inspecting, and repairing clinical and patient care equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance, testing, and calibration of biomedical equipment to prevent downtime and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement training programs for medical equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements through regular audits and inspections.
  • Respond to service requests, troubleshoot, and repair medical equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document all service requests and repairs in the biomedical equipment database for accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Participate in on-call duties and respond to calls within specified timeframes to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical, Electrical, or Clinical Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in medical device maintenance and repair.
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certificate is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical device integrations and IT systems.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare standards and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with ability to read schematics and understand computer and network security.
  • Strong communication and computer skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to access equipment in confined areas and wear protective gear as needed.
