We are currently in search of a qualified Marine Power Systems Sales Consultant. This role will focus on actively driving product sales and services within the designated territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively promote product sales and services within the assigned region.
  • Build and nurture relationships with marine end users, fleets, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to advocate for Interstate Power Systems products and services.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and the company to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Secure product orders, conduct territory assessments, analyze product distribution, identify new prospects, and ascertain customer needs.
  • Plan and execute sales calls, deliver presentations, highlight product benefits, and emphasize the advantages of partnering with our company.
  • Assist clients in resolving issues, provide technical support for new applications, and keep customers informed about new developments and product features.
  • Identify and cultivate new customer relationships to enhance market presence.
  • Stay informed about emerging business opportunities; address complaints, establish and maintain strong customer relationships; participate in exhibitions, demonstrations, and meetings.
  • Remain knowledgeable about new products from both the company and competitors, and communicate any changes that may impact performance.
  • Ensure customers are informed about new product features and advancements.
  • Maintain an organized system for literature, brochures, pricing sheets, etc.
  • Document calls, prepare reports as necessary, adhere to plans, follow up on leads, and manage travel, telephone, and entertainment expenses effectively.
  • Exhibit a high level of sales professionalism through continuous learning and participation in meetings and industry events.
  • Follow up to confirm that equipment is delivered correctly and meets all sale conditions; take prompt action to address any deficiencies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Parts Manager, Service Manager, Engineering, and other sales personnel.
  • Work in conjunction with the Credit Manager regarding account conditions.
  • Maintain a customer account list for commission tracking.
  • Keep management informed of any territory changes that could impact company success.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with Marine Systems is preferred.
  • Background in distribution, industrial, and/or heavy equipment is advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • A self-motivated individual who can leverage local strengths to create a positive business strategy.
  • Proven sales experience.
  • Clean driving record.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in outside sales.
  • Experience in distribution, industrial, and/or heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
