Position Overview:

The Human Resources Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting retail associates by serving as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries. This position involves managing payroll, benefits, and compliance with company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, including new hires, transfers, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary documentation, including I-9s and W-4s, in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough audits of employee records to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and internal audit standards.
  • Prepare and analyze reports to ensure accuracy in the HR system.
  • Interpret and enforce retail policies and procedures effectively.
  • Manage employee records and changes in the HR system, ensuring timely updates.
  • Assist in the administration of severance letters during store closures.
  • Document and track all leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Facilitate accurate benefits enrollment and resolve any related issues in collaboration with the Benefits Department.
  • Oversee the Annual Open Enrollment process, providing support and guidance to associates.
  • Coordinate with the Workers Compensation carrier to expedite claims and facilitate employee return-to-work programs.
  • Work closely with management to address employee relations issues and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Human Resources is preferred.
  • A college degree or equivalent work experience is desirable.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Workday HR system is a plus.
