Retail Human Resources Specialist

Position Overview:
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting retail associates by serving as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries. This position involves managing payroll, benefits, and compliance with company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, including new hires, transfers, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with all necessary documentation, including I-9s and W-4s, in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough audits of employee records to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and internal audit standards.
- Prepare and analyze reports to ensure accuracy in the HR system.
- Interpret and enforce retail policies and procedures effectively.
- Manage employee records and changes in the HR system, ensuring timely updates.
- Assist in the administration of severance letters during store closures.
- Document and track all leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
- Facilitate accurate benefits enrollment and resolve any related issues in collaboration with the Benefits Department.
- Oversee the Annual Open Enrollment process, providing support and guidance to associates.
- Coordinate with the Workers Compensation carrier to expedite claims and facilitate employee return-to-work programs.
- Work closely with management to address employee relations issues and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Human Resources is preferred.
- A college degree or equivalent work experience is desirable.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Workday HR system is a plus.
