We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at RHA Health Services. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support and services to individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model effective coping and self-help techniques to individuals
- Provide empowerment skills and support in successful recovery living
- Assist individuals in finding resources, advising of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions
- Lead peer support groups with individuals served
- Support/assist individuals in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems
- Facilitate social opportunities in the community
- Foster development of healthy relationships by encouraging participation in community activities
- Share personal story of recovery and resilience to instill hope
Requirements:
- Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist in NC or PA
- 1 year experience working with individuals with behavioral health issues preferred
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
