Urology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our urology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary and benefits package. You will work closely with our experienced urologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with a range of urological conditions. Your expertise and clinical skills will be essential in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose patients with urological conditions, developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and assess patient data to determine differential diagnoses.
  • Prescribe medication, therapy, and treatments as necessary, working closely with our urologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform minor surgeries and routine procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
  • Counsel and educate patients on physical and mental health, including diet, preventive health measures, and self-care skills.
  • Provide care coordination, managing ancillary services, pre-operative plans, discharge planning, and provider referrals.
  • Prescribe and regulate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications as warranted by patient diagnosis or changing medical condition.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant or a Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Illinois or Wisconsin.
  • Board certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Excellent clinical skills, decision-making abilities, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
