The Department of French and Italian at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in French and Francophone Cultures. This position is open to candidates specializing in various areas, particularly those with a focus on postcolonial studies, migration and diaspora studies, as well as France's international connections (literary, political, cultural, historical) with regions such as the Caribbean, Africa, and the Americas.
We are looking for colleagues who can collaborate effectively with students and faculty across diverse disciplines, including Comparative Literature, Caribbean Studies, History, African/African Diaspora Studies, Mediterranean Studies, Asian Studies, European Studies, International Relations and Global Studies, Geography, and Anthropology. Responsibilities will encompass undergraduate and graduate instruction, scholarly research, and contributions to the Department, the College of Liberal Arts, and the University community. A commitment to excellence in research, publication, and teaching is essential.
QualificationsCandidates must possess a Ph.D. and demonstrate native or near-native proficiency in French.
Application InstructionsInterested applicants should submit a letter of interest, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, a writing sample (maximum of 25 pages), a teaching portfolio including sample undergraduate syllabi, student evaluations, and three letters of recommendation. All submissions should be made electronically.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Funding for the position is subject to budgetary considerations.
