The Senior Marine Mechanic is tasked with executing the responsibilities outlined below consistently while ensuring customer satisfaction and adhering to company sales and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair marine gas and diesel engines, ranging from routine maintenance to comprehensive overhauls.
  • Repair and rebuild gearsets, transmissions, and stern drives.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues in carbureted and fuel-injected intake systems.
  • Repair propulsion systems, including transmissions, sail drives, and stern drives.
  • Diagnose and repair various generator sets, along with 12V and battery bank systems.
  • Conduct winterization and spring commissioning of engines and onboard systems.
  • Handle installations of new engines, air conditioning systems, pumps, anchor windlasses, and other assigned tasks.
  • Perform mechanical repairs across water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, and pumps.
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members as necessary.
  • Exhibit sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Carry out additional duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive demeanor.
  • High school diploma is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical repair and installation.
  • OEM certifications are required.
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English, with the ability to comprehend electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Capable of utilizing test instruments and specialty tools as specified by OEMs.
  • Must provide personal tools and test equipment; specialty tools and diagnostics will be supplied.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in electrical and electronic installations.
  • Must meet the physical demands of the role.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and personal commitment.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team setting to achieve departmental and company objectives.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Experience with various internal combustion engines (diesel, inboard, outboard, etc.); diesel-only experience is acceptable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
