Job Summary

TopSide Marinas is seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team. As a Marine Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of boats, as well as troubleshooting and diagnosing complex mechanical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Marine Engines: Use your expertise to diagnose and repair issues with our marine engines, including troubleshooting and repairing carbureted and fuel-injected intake systems.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as winterization and summerization of engines and boat systems, to ensure our fleet is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Diagnose and Repair Propulsion Components: Use your knowledge of propulsion systems to diagnose and repair issues with gear cases, stern drives, and other components.
  • Operate Diagnostic Software: Utilize diagnostic software to identify and repair complex mechanical issues.
  • Install New Equipment: Install new engines, pumps, and other equipment as assigned.
  • Perform Mechanical Repairs: Conduct mechanical repairs on boat equipment, including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, and other components.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma Required: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • 3-6 Years of Experience: A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installation is required.
  • OEM Certifications Preferred: OEM certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to Speak and Read English: The ability to speak and read English is required, as well as the ability to understand electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to Use Test Instruments: The ability to use test instruments is required.
  • Ability to Use Specialty Tools: The ability to use specialty tools as designated by OEMs is required.
  • Must Provide Tools and Test Equipment: The ability to provide tools and test equipment is required.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting Experience: Electrical troubleshooting experience is required.
  • Physical Requirements: The ability to meet the physical requirements of the job is required.
  • Strong Work Ethic and Personal Commitment: A strong work ethic and personal commitment to excellence are required.
  • Ability to Work in a Team Environment: The ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals is required.
  • Ability to Work Independently: The ability to work independently as a self-starter is required.
  • Willingness to Work on a Variety of Engines: The willingness to work on a variety of internal combustion engines, including diesel, inboard, outboard, and other types, is required.
