Position Overview

The Residential Community Manager serves as the primary live-in administrator of a residential facility, tasked with overseeing all management functions essential for creating a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

The Residential Community Manager is responsible for:

  • Supervising both full-time and student staff members.
  • Managing the operations of a 24-hour service desk and mail distribution.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation to address student needs.
  • Facilitating student development through guidance in decision-making and conduct.
  • Supporting various campus and departmental initiatives and committees.

This role fosters a community atmosphere that encourages both academic and personal growth, aligning with the mission and values of the Department of Residence Life, Housing, and Dining Services.


Essential Qualifications

Education:
A bachelor's degree is mandatory. A master's degree in College Student Personnel, Educational Administration, Counseling, or a related discipline is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Experience:
Required supervision experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs or equivalent is necessary. Experience in diverse environments and with individuals from various backgrounds is essential. Previous involvement in student leadership roles, including hall government or peer judicial systems, is preferred. Experience in program planning and conduct hearings is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

Must be mobile to respond promptly to emergencies and complete coverage rounds efficiently. The ability to visually assess the facility for cleanliness and maintenance needs is required. This position is classified as essential, necessitating attendance during severe weather closures.
