Job Summary

">

The Strategic Initiatives Coordinator will support the Executive team in developing and implementing large-scale projects that amplify engagement and welcome visitors to the museum. This role requires a detail-oriented and collaborative individual with strong project management skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide special project support to Executive leadership
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessment
  • Collaborate with museum staff, trustees, curators, consultants, and external partners to define project goals, objectives, and deliverables
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring expenses, tracking project expenditures, and reconciling invoices and processing payments
  • Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks, and proactively implementing necessary adjustments to ensure timely completion with multiple stakeholders
  • Coordinate and communicate project updates to stakeholders, keeping them informed about project milestones, challenges, and successes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in museum studies, arts administration, project management, or a related field or equivalent years' experience (Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a museum or cultural institution managing large-scale arts and culture projects and programs
  • Strong knowledge of museum operations, multigenerational learning spaces, and project management methodologies
  • Considerable experience in facilitating community and other stakeholder meetings; managing scope, scale, and resources on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles
  • Excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Generate, receive, and maintain confidential and sensitive files, information, and reports and ensure security of files

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of $95,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, fully paid short-term disability insurance, long-term disability insurance, and life insurance, health savings or flexible spending account program, retirement savings program with museum match, paid vacation, personal days, sick days, and holidays, and more.
