Position Overview
The Multifamily LIHTC Asset Manager Senior Associate will oversee the management of an equity portfolio post-closing. This role will serve as the primary liaison with syndicator partners throughout the lifecycle of LIHTC investments, including onboarding, development, construction, and operational phases. Key responsibilities include analyzing investment reports from syndicator partners, conducting risk evaluations of investments and markets, and implementing corrective strategies when performance issues arise. The position also involves transitioning newly acquired assets into the portfolio and managing modifications and disposals as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
As a Multifamily LIHTC Asset Manager Senior Associate, you will:
- Manage relationships with syndicator partners during the development, construction, and operational stages of LIHTC investments.
- Analyze data related to the Multifamily portfolio, including counterparties, markets, legal agreements, financial statements, and cash flows, to identify trends and draw insightful conclusions.
- Develop solutions to challenges by sourcing and analyzing information, presenting findings to management and stakeholders to mitigate financial and credit risks effectively.
- Ensure the integrity and quality of data, assisting in the automation of asset management processes.
- Enhance processes for monitoring and communicating credit risk across the Multifamily organization.
- Lead and support the creation of action plans for non-routine projects, including regulatory and internal audit activities.
- Maintain a training schedule and focus on personal development aligned with leadership criteria.
- Assist with various ad hoc assignments as required.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the Multifamily market, including LIHTC Asset Management, affordable housing finance, real estate finance, and legal contracts.
- Experience managing Multifamily LIHTC/Equity assets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple business units.
- Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Proficient analytical skills and experience with data management and reporting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Preferred Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in Multifamily acquisition and disposition.
- Familiarity with equity or debt portfolio management software.
