Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital as a Float Pool Nurse. This is a unique opportunity to provide individualized comprehensive nursing care to patients while floating in different units of the hospital.

As a Float Pool Nurse, you will be responsible for providing preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to patients based on the nursing process and hospital policy. You will also be assigned responsibilities with full patient assignment specific to PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho, and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, primarily to cover sick calls.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, a passion for patient care, and the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient. You will also participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.

The ideal candidate will have a Registered Nurse – State of Alaska license, an Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), and one year of clinical nursing experience in a health care facility. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) certification is required.
