Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. As a critical care nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identifies needs for intervention.
  • Demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking and clinical judgment to make nursing decisions and identify health care needs.
  • Evaluate and document each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures.
  • Assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.
  • Monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms and have the ability to intervene as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current Alaska nursing license in good standing
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
  • One-year critical care experience required; Two years preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS)
