We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Float Pool Nurse to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

About the Role

As a Float Pool Nurse, you will provide individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients' needs while floating in different units of the hospital. Our team is dedicated to serving others in need and supporting one another.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
  • Be assigned responsibilities with full patient assignment specific to PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho, and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, primarily to cover sick calls.
  • Assess and plan for individualized patient care, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Collaborate with the patient/family regarding developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences, developing and implementing patient care plans to include problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patients' clinical conditions and results of diagnostic studies.
  • Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.

About You

  • You must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Alaska.
  • An Associate Degree in Nursing is required, with a BSN preferred.
  • Prefer one year of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare facility.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) certification is required.
