About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Motion Sensing Engineering Program Manager to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in defining the motion sensing roadmap and landscape for next-generation Apple consumer electronics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and integration of innovative sensing technologies, including accelerometers, gyroscopes, pressure sensors, and magnetometers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to specify, develop, characterize, integrate, and validate motion sensing systems at the module and system level.
  • Facilitate top-level feature integration and multi-functional communications.
  • Manage and support engineering development builds, leading to mass production, and track engineering activities such as performance validation, yield optimization, and failure analysis coordination.
  • Work with suppliers and system teams to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Support internal proof-of-concept hardware and software developments for new application investigations.
  • Effectively communicate overall program status to cross-functional partners and the executive team.
Requirements
  • Product development or engineering experience shipping semi-conductor, sensing, MEMS, or other related hardware.
  • Experience in physics, mechanical, electrical, or material science engineering.
  • Experience with interfacing micro-controllers with analog and digital sensors, embedded programming, or signal processing.
  • Experience with data collection, data analysis, and statistical analysis tools (e.g. Matlab, Python, or JMP).
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.

  • Technical background with knowledge of sensing technologies and/or system sensor integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty and see around the corner.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Solid problem-solving, failure analysis, and debugging skills.
  • Solid collaboration skills, with the ability to fit in well with a team, understand capabilities and priorities, and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Great organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and align team members.
