The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting biospecimen samples from research participants in their homes, maintaining accurate documentation, and safely transporting samples to the Johns Hopkins Biological Repository.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to research participants' homes to collect biospecimen samples according to study protocols.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and biological data.
  • Transport biospecimens to the Johns Hopkins Biological Repository within the specified time frame.
  • Local travel up to 2 hours from the JHMI campus to collect biospecimen samples.
  • Ensure the highest quality of biological data collected for analysis.
  • Report directly to the Research Program Supervisor for case assignments.
  • Meet weekly with the Study Coordinator and/or Study Manager for quality control and assurance checks.
  • Review informed consent from research participants and collect other research data as assigned.
  • Submit biological-related data to the Johns Hopkins Biological Repository and complete data entry for the research group as assigned.
  • Complete IRB-required training and renewals for human subjects' protection, HIPAA, First Aid/CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens as required.
  • Perform other research tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Two years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience.
  • Valid MD driver's license.
  • Phlebotomy Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous phlebotomy experience.
  • Some college courses or Bachelor's Degree.
