Phlebotomy Specialist Technician

As a Phlebotomy Specialist Technician at MedStar Health, you will play a vital role in the laboratory process by collecting blood samples from patients in various settings. Your expertise will ensure accurate and efficient specimen collection, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood samples from patients in out-patient, in-patient, and outreach settings.
- Verify patient identification and insurance information.
- Perform basic data entry to register and accession patient orders.
- Comply with laboratory policies and procedures, as well as governmental and accreditation standards.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other departments and coworkers.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a hospital-approved phlebotomy course.
- 6 months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.
