Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the Department of Homeland Security - Agency Wide as a Management and Program Analyst. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation of the NED Communication Strategy and coordinating division-wide communication activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the implementation of the NED Communication Strategy
  • Coordinating division-wide communication activities
  • Drafting and implementing communication plans in support of NED initiatives
  • Liaising with FEMA stakeholders outside of NED
  • Supervising the work of contact staff working on communication products
  • Drafting communication products including talking points, fact sheets, and social media posts
  • Managing the NED Communication Hub SharePoint page
  • Planning NED conference engagement
Requirements
  • Must be a current permanent Federal employee
  • Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment
  • Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
  • Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
  • Must be currently at the grade level of the detail
Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience drafting public-facing newsletters, social media, talking points, press releases, and presentations
  • Experience drafting and implementing communication plans
  • Experience working with SharePoint
  • An interest in emergency management and disaster preparedness
