About the Role

As a Supplier Diversity Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting our Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion (CEI) project. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing a standardized, consistent BEP goal-setting process for agencies and public institutions of higher education.
  • Providing a comprehensive overview of the goal-setting process, including underlying principles, methodology, and key factors to consider.
  • Creating user-friendly, accessible, and effective implementation and understanding of the goal-setting process.
  • Conducting a detailed analysis and evaluation of current goal-setting practices in agencies and PIHEs.
  • Presenting data and evidence to support proposed changes, highlighting potential benefits and impact of the standardized goal-setting process.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with courses in business, procurement, supply chain management, public administration, political science, pre-law, communications, or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a public and/or private supplier diversity consultant, with a focus on goal-setting processes and procurement consulting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with supplier diversity, including goal-setting processes and procurement consulting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of public or private procurement consulting experience, with a focus on supplier diversity and goal-setting processes.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supply chain management and procurement experience, with a focus on supplier diversity and goal-setting processes.
  • Examples of success in developing and implementing goal-setting strategies in compliance with diversity contracting regulations for governmental units.
  • Experience training governmental or private units on supplier diversity and procurement disparities.
