About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Permanent Estimator to join our team in the Engineering industry. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including labor, material, and equipment costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for underground construction projects, taking into account labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Evaluate and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated cost of a project.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather information about the type and cost of resources required for a project.
  • Review and assess cost estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Participate in proposal presentations, project meetings, and contract negotiations as required.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of up-to-date cost estimating information to assist in future project planning and cost estimation.
  • Provide technical support and advice to project teams, including identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cost estimating techniques to ensure the company remains competitive.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the Engineering industry, with a focus on Underground Construction.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proficient in the use of cost estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately calculate and analyze cost data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in cost estimating.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best possible cost for resources and services.
