We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance operations of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that our equipment is always in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the maintenance of all fleet vehicles and equipment, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage a team of maintenance personnel, including technicians, welders, and administrative staff.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, including personnel, purchasing, and inventory control.
- Perform inspections of outside repairs and maintenance to ensure compliance with company safety and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement training programs for maintenance personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations and logistics, to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with business objectives.
- Advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems of heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Experience in a leadership role, preferably in a maintenance or operations environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement solutions to complex maintenance issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with maintenance personnel, other departments, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g. mechanical engineering, business administration) preferred.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in diesel engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and steering.
- At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance or operations role, preferably in a large fleet environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA Haz Com and OSHA Lock Out Tag Out regulations.
