About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Specialist to join our team at The Hartford. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our organization by designing and delivering onboarding programs, leadership development initiatives, and other learning solutions to build capability within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver onboarding programs and other L&D initiatives in response to changing needs
  • Provide L&D consultation to individuals, teams, and programs
  • Identify and design learning options, including online and blended learning solutions
  • Assist with developing and implementing programs and initiatives to build leadership and staff capability
  • Develop, manage, and coordinate training requirements for differing levels of the organization
  • Select and recommend educational methods, certifications, conferences, workshops, and e-learning courses
  • Facilitate regular soft-skills development, sales, and management trainings
  • Assess the impact of training on employee performance
  • Act as a liaison with external partners and outsource training, as needed
  • Evaluate feedback from trainees and trainers after each session
  • Promote and market available training opportunities to employees and drive a learning culture
  • Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) input and reporting
  • Manage the L&D intranet page, ensuring information is relevant and targeted to the correct audience
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or Business preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Asset Management or financial services experience preferred
  • Experience working with leaders at all levels of an organization
  • Proven experience with talent management and talent development strategies
  • Strong project management and coaching skills with thorough attention to detail
  • Knowledge of change management practices, organizational design, and development techniques
  • Demonstrated ability at developing practical, solution-driven initiatives and effectively implementing and measuring the business impact
  • A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively toward team and organizational goals, demonstrate good judgment with excellent follow-through
  • Impeccable integrity and sound judgment
  • Focus on building knowledge of the business and leverage that knowledge effectively in daily execution
Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency, and demonstration of competencies required for the role.

The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.

The annualized base pay range for this role is: $75,000 - $90,000
