Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Planning and Delivery:

    • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curricula and provide accommodations for students with special needs.
    • Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
    • Utilize technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
  • Monitoring Student Progress and Potential:
    • Conduct regular progress monitoring and provide feedback to students, parents, and teachers.
    • Support the mission of the school by serving as a positive role model for students.
  • Classroom Management and Organization:
    • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
    • Manage student behavior and maintain a positive classroom culture.
  • Other Duties:
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless collaboration and support.
    • Participate in professional development activities to enhance job-related skills and knowledge.
    • Stay up-to-date on state and district policies related to special education.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Appropriate grade-level teacher certification with a special education endorsement.
  • Proficiency in special education rules, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and student-centered practices.
  • Strong consultation and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time (.5 FTE) position that requires daily attendance and punctuality.
