Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

At Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, we are in search of a skilled and dependable registered nurse for our NICU department. As a NICU RN, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting clinical nursing tasks for neonates and infants in accordance with established protocols.
  • Performing thorough neonatal assessments and implementing suitable interventions.
  • Recognizing the developmental stages of neonates and providing necessary support to optimize their developmental outcomes.
  • Responding swiftly and appropriately to acute changes in the condition of neonates and emergencies within the NICU.
  • Administering care for patients requiring newborn support, including feeding, IV therapy, medication administration, and respiratory care, while preparing for potential transport.
  • Offering guidance and education to family members.
  • Effectively communicating with all healthcare team members through both verbal and written channels.

Requirements

  • Current licensure from the Virginia Board of Nursing or a compact license eligible for practice in Virginia.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Current certifications in BLS and NRP.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a Level 3 NICU setting.
