Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic analytical approaches to efficiently tackle complex materials issues.
  • Assist clients in defining the specific material properties essential for their applications, leveraging strong communication and proactive engagement.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow scientists on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Employ Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectroscopy techniques to analyze the composition of intricate organic chemical mixtures across different states.
  • Utilize Thermal Analysis methods (TGA, DSC, TMA) to assess the thermal characteristics of both organic and inorganic materials.
  • Conduct Electron Microscopic Analysis to generate high-resolution imagery of surfaces and particles, along with EDS x-ray emission spectroscopy for elemental composition analysis.
  • Implement X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy to evaluate the elemental makeup and chemical bonding of material surfaces.
  • Apply X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry for determining the elemental composition of various materials.
  • Use X-ray Diffraction to classify chemical phases based on their crystalline structures.
  • Leverage FTIR Infrared Spectroscopy to identify organic materials, assess their degradation and aging properties, detect impurities, and recognize additives.
  • Conduct UV-Vis absorption and reflection spectroscopy analyses.
  • Perform contact angle measurements to evaluate surface properties.
  • Prepare detailed analytical reports that elucidate the employed techniques, material property findings, and their relevance to the client’s materials challenges.
  • Engage in follow-up discussions and additional analytical work as required.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Doctoral degree (PhD) or an equivalent qualification in Materials Science, Chemistry, Materials Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in laboratory materials analysis.
