Key Responsibilities- Design and synthesize high-performance electrode materials and electrolytes for aqueous-Zn, Li-/Na-ion batteries using earth-abundant elements.
- Fabricate pouch/prismatic cells using PNNL's Advanced Battery Facilities.
- Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to identify and understand the working mechanisms through advanced characterization and theoretical simulation.
- Provide technical contribution and leadership through problem-solving, innovation, and creativity.
- Conduct and monitor state-of-the-art experimentation, adhering to PNNL safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience, or MS/MA, or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields.
- Experience in synthesis of high-performance aqueous-Zn, Li-/Na-ion battery electrode materials, electrolyte screening, and pouch cell fabrication.
- Strong background in Li-/Na-ion battery and aqueous Zn batteries research.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, thorough understanding of engineering, material science, and electrochemistry principles.
