**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Materials Scientist 2 to join our team at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting research and development of advanced battery materials and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our research team to design and develop novel electrolyte formulations for vanadium flow batteries and aqueous organic flow batteries.
  • Develop and implement test protocols for specific flow battery technologies, working closely with our project managers and principal investigators.
  • Program battery cycling equipment and interface battery management systems with battery cyclers, working independently or as part of a team.
  • Assemble and analyze battery cycler data, creating reports on battery performance and degradation.
  • Work safely in our laboratory environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Preferred qualifications include an engineering or science degree with 3 or more years of experience, as well as experience in battery testing, redox flow batteries, and programming battery cycler equipment.

Working Conditions:

This position involves working in a laboratory environment, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and equipment. However, this is not applicable to this position.
