Battery Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Materials Scientist 2 to join our team at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced battery materials and systems.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with our team to develop and test novel electrolyte formulations for vanadium flow batteries and aqueous organic flow batteries.
- Design and assemble test protocols for specific flow battery technologies, working closely with our project managers and principal investigators.
- Program and interface battery cycling equipment, ensuring seamless integration with battery management systems.
- Assemble and analyze battery cycler data, providing detailed reports on battery performance and degradation.
- Work safely in our laboratory environments, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA with 2 years of relevant experience, or MS/MA, or PhD.
- Preferred Qualifications: Engineering or Science degree with 3 or more years of experience, with a focus on battery testing and redox flow batteries.
- Experience with programming battery cycler equipment, specifically Arbin, and interfacing battery management systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis software, including Excel, PowerBi, and Tableau.
- Experience developing data acquisition systems.
