Materials Scientist 2

We are seeking an exceptional Materials Scientist 2 to join our team at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. As a key member of our Energy Processes and Materials Division, you will play a critical role in the development of advanced battery materials and systems.
Responsibilities:- Design and synthesize high-performance electrode materials and electrolytes for aqueous-Zn, Li-/Na-ion batteries using earth-abundant elements.
- Fabricate pouch/prismatic cells using PNNL's Advanced Battery Facilities.
- Conduct in-depth research independently and collaborate effectively with a team of world-class scientists and engineers.
- Provide technical contribution and leadership through problem-solving, innovation, and creativity.
- Conduct state-of-the-art experimentation adhering to PNNL safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Work effectively in a team to safely conduct research and accomplish project objectives.
- Contribute clear and concise written and oral presentations of data, analysis, and internal/external reports.
- BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience -OR-
- MS/MA -OR-
- PhD
