Key Responsibilities
As an Anesthesia Technician, you will ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective anesthesia care while supporting both routine and complex medical procedures. Your role will involve:
- Preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before and during anesthesia.
- Assisting anesthesiologists and anesthetists by operating and maintaining essential equipment for major surgical procedures.
- Assembling and operating autotransfusion devices (Cell Saver) and providing information to medical staff regarding various anesthetic devices and supplies.
- Educating and orienting new staff and residents on physiological monitors and supplies.
- Conducting ACT analysis, intra-aortic balloon pump methods, and glucose tests, ensuring the proper function and maintenance of the involved machines.
- Performing anesthesia machine checks and ensuring the readiness of basic airway and specialty carts.
- Assisting with arterial line, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery placements.
- Supporting airway management and ensuring the readiness of Fiberoptic equipment for use.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Anesthesiology Technician Certification is required, along with the maintenance of continuing education units as mandated by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians.
- A High School diploma or GED is required.
- BLS certification must be renewed every two years.
- Knowledge of the anatomical functions and components of anesthesia medications.
- Experience with procedural control of biological hazards, infection control, and adherence to ethical and legal responsibilities.
- Understanding of safe handling and storage of gases that may pose hazards in the operating room.
- Familiarity with sterilization techniques, anesthetic agents, and monitoring equipment.
- Knowledge of fluid therapy, intravenous lines, ECG application, and basic transesophageal echocardiography.
