Job Summary:

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Anesthesia providers in delivering quality care to patients undergoing outpatient surgery and/or Anesthesia Interventional procedures. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workroom, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available.
  • Assist Anesthesia providers with patient care during procedures, including positioning, supporting, and monitoring patients.
  • Provide excellent communication skills, ensuring that patients and their families are informed and comfortable throughout the procedure.
  • Participate in universal protocol time-out procedures and document patient care activities in the electronic medical record.
  • Perform point-of-care testing, such as blood glucose monitoring, and report results to Anesthesia providers.
  • Collaborate with the Anesthesia team to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an Anesthesia Technician training program or equivalent hospital or military training preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
