Anesthesia Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia care to our patients.
Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before and during anesthesia.
- Assist the anesthesiologist/anesthetist in operating and maintaining complex equipment needed in major surgical procedures.
- Assemble and operate autotransfusion devices, provide information to attending physicians and staff regarding anesthetic devices and supplies.
- Educate and orient new staff and residents on physiological monitors and supplies.
- Perform ACT analysis, intra-aortic balloon pump methods, and glucose tests, and ensure the proper function and maintenance of related machines.
- Assemble and check anesthesia delivery systems, manage calibration of EtCo2 monitors, and ensure readiness of basic airway and specialty carts.
- Assist with arterial line, CVP, and PA placement, and ensure readiness of other equipment to prevent interference.
- Assist with airway management, ensuring rapid sequence/cricoid press, Fiberoptic equipment is ready for use.
- Anesthesiology Technician Certification is required, with maintenance of C.E.U. for certification as required by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians.
- High School/GED is also required, with BLS certification every 2 years.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in anesthesia care, including care of anatomical functions and components of anesthesia medicines.
- Experience with safe handling and storage of bulk and cylinder gases, and knowledge of proper sterilization and aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of proper usage of common anesthetic agents and drugs, principles of purchasing and supply level control, human anatomy and physiology, and basic pathophysiology of common disease.
