Human Resource Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Human Resource Specialist to join our team at Rees Scientific Corporati in Trenton, NJ. This role offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, opportunities for professional growth, and a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities:- Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, from job posting through onboarding, ensuring an efficient and positive candidate experience.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies, building a pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Coordinate and conduct candidate screenings, interviews, and assessments, and manage candidate communications and feedback.
- Oversee onboarding activities, including preparing new hire documentation, organizing orientation sessions, and supporting new hires as they transition into their roles.
- Payroll Administration
- Assist in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining meticulous records and addressing payroll-related inquiries promptly.
- Track attendance, time-off balances, and leave requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Regularly audit payroll data to maintain accuracy and support employee queries related to payroll, compensation, and deductions.
- Benefits Administration and Support
- Assist in benefits administration, including facilitating open enrollment, managing benefits inquiries, and processing changes in benefit selections.
- Maintain accurate records of employee benefits, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison between employees and benefits vendors, addressing issues and coordinating resolutions in a timely manner.
- HR Data Management and Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records in HRIS and other digital and physical formats, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- Assist in preparing for audits and HR assessments, ensuring that records and documentation are complete and compliant with retention policies.
- Keep abreast of labor laws and HR policies, providing accurate information to employees and supporting HR compliance efforts.
- Employee Relations and Performance Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures, providing prompt and professional responses.
- Support employee performance management by coordinating review schedules, assisting with documentation, and facilitating follow-up.
- Help organize employee engagement initiatives, such as wellness programs and team-building events, to foster a positive work culture.
- General HR Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support for HR projects, departmental communications, and special initiatives, maintaining high organizational standards.
- Coordinate and schedule HR-related meetings, manage confidential documentation, and assist with the distribution of updated HR policies.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of HR experience, with a strong focus on recruitment and payroll administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software (preferably ADP Workforce Now), as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach to handling sensitive information.
- Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information appropriately.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR software applications.
