Laboratory Team Lead

STERIS is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Team Lead to join our team. As a Laboratory Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing leadership to staff, ensuring the coordination of testing schedules, and demonstrating, instructing, and reviewing work instructions, testing protocols, and safety precautions for designated employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor the status of all testing and coordinate day-to-day execution of testing and prompt reporting/communication of results
- Notify Management/QA/Customer promptly of OOS results
- Monitor cleaning/calibration of area equipment and spaces and communicate issues to Calibration/Maintenance/Tech Support
- Promptly train or facilitate training of trainees
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement
- Lead small group meetings, record daily status, and report to main meeting
- Lead group discussions to develop countermeasures, implement, and monitor countermeasures
- Monitor media and supply inventories
- Routine testing of products/Result interpretation/Report Generation to ensure deadlines are met
- Identify gaps or challenges with work instructions and work with Supervisor/Team to DCO work instructions or source needed equipment/tools
- Feedback on team when requested
- Technical reviews on documentation (Process Descriptions, Dilution schemes, etc...)
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a Laboratory with a HS Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a Laboratory with an AA degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Laboratory with a Bachelor's degree
- Be dependable and reliable
- Be a collaborative team player
- Be attentive to detail
- Demonstrated ability to provide training and support to Laboratory staff
- Must have knowledge of common laboratory techniques and equipment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum Intermediate level on Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work under control in pressure situations and manage change
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret rules, schedules, procedures, and instructions
- MATH skills, including fractions and decimals
- Ability to work well with others
