Job Title: Production Technician

Join EssilorLuxottica, a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses, as a Production Technician in our optical laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned area for work task/job in surface or finish portions of lab production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all aspects of laboratory production within the assigned area, including the proper use of Lensometer instruments for lens product inspection and equipment maintenance.
  • Interpret Special Rx's and translate Rx requirements into finished products commensurate with production area.
  • Assist supervisor in maintaining and managing shop supply inventories and troubleshoot production problems leading to unacceptable spoilage, production slowdowns, and sub-par product quality/service.
  • Prepare solutions for the wash process and ensure daily supplies are stocked.
  • Perform specific tasks, including lens wash & surface/cosmetic inspection, tool cutting and selection/replacement, equipment set up for daily production, and calibration of equipment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of laboratory work experience
  • Ability to multi-task, orient to detail, and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic high school level math skills required
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision and color vision
