Join EssilorLuxottica, a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses, as a Production Technician in our optical laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned area for work task/job in surface or finish portions of lab production.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform all aspects of laboratory production within the assigned area, including the proper use of Lensometer instruments for lens product inspection and equipment maintenance.
- Interpret Special Rx's and translate Rx requirements into finished products commensurate with production area.
- Assist supervisor in maintaining and managing shop supply inventories and troubleshoot production problems leading to unacceptable spoilage, production slowdowns, and sub-par product quality/service.
- Prepare solutions for the wash process and ensure daily supplies are stocked.
- Perform specific tasks, including lens wash & surface/cosmetic inspection, tool cutting and selection/replacement, equipment set up for daily production, and calibration of equipment.
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of laboratory work experience
- Ability to multi-task, orient to detail, and operate in a fast-paced environment
- Basic high school level math skills required
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision and color vision
