Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Create, develop, and document an overall annual strategy for the Junior Sharks Girls/Women's Hockey program, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Player Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive player development program that aligns with the overall Junior Sharks strategy, focusing on skill development and player growth.
- Coaches Development: Implement and own a coaches development program that aligns with the overall Junior Sharks strategy, focusing on coaching education and development.
- Recruitment and Selection: Own the recruitment, selection, development, and evaluation of all Junior Sharks Girls/Women's Hockey coaches, ensuring a high-quality coaching staff.
- Tryout Process: Lead the Junior Sharks Girls/Women's Hockey club tryout process, providing on-ice and off-ice support, and recommending players to appropriate teams.
- Scheduling and Budgeting: Collaborate with the Deputy Director, Junior Sharks Operations on scheduling and budget formulation, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Leadership and Representation: Serve in leadership roles, representing the Junior Sharks Club to hockey governing organizations, and participate in interdepartmental committees as required.
- Facility Management: Uphold and maintain the policies and procedures of the ice arena, and recommend supplementary developmental uses of facility non-ice spaces.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years of previous experience as a supervisor or program manager.
- Skills: Outstanding interactive skills, excellent written, verbal, and public communication skills, ability to work well with youth and adults, and strong ability to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and utilize a computer for extended periods, communicate via phone and email, and physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities.
