Position Title: Project Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Project Engineer, you will serve as the primary liaison for clients, overseeing design, programming, commissioning, technical support, and project management for building automation control projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the project preplanning phase, accurately assessing task complexity and duration, developing timelines, anticipating challenges, and collaborating with the project team to address issues proactively.
  • Monitoring project costs closely and responding to variations promptly; managing labor reporting to optimize productivity; scheduling subcontractors; and escalating issues to management as necessary.
  • Assessing scope modifications, additional work requests, and client requirements.
  • Coordinating with other trades, conducting start-ups, and performing commissioning as required.
  • Identifying necessary equipment and materials for optimal system performance while proactively troubleshooting potential issues.
  • Providing technical expertise to resolve control system challenges and ensure occupant comfort.
  • Troubleshooting local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules to identify issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensuring the functionality of measurement and verification (M&V) equipment, including accurate data recording and storage.

Position Requirements:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service and relationship building.
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficient in standard office software, including MS Office 365.
  • Knowledge of the industry is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of operational concepts such as planning, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
