We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our team at Houston Engineering. As a Transportation Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building transportation systems that improve the lives of thousands of people in your community, county, and state.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with senior-level engineers to work on various civil engineering projects, including traffic planning, roadway and railway design, geometric layout, drainage analysis, erosion control, and environmental clearance coordination.
- Perform redlines on project drawings, pull technical reports, complete quantity calculations, and assist with project cost estimates.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, including CAD designers, engineers, and subcontractors, to complete projects safely, on time, and with high quality.
- Assist in client contact and communications, and may include onsite construction observation duties during the construction phase of projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree.
- 0-3 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in the design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects preferred.
- Experience operating MicroStation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
