As a Medical Unit Administrative Coordinator, you will be essential in facilitating the efficient functioning of our medical/surgical unit. Your role will encompass clerical support, maintaining precise records, managing inventory, and ensuring effective communication among healthcare staff and patients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to patient intercoms and phone inquiries, directing them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping and perform clerical tasks specific to the medical/surgical unit.
  • Contribute to the management of the unit by fostering an organized workspace and overseeing supply levels.
  • Communicate vital information effectively to other healthcare professionals involved in patient care.
  • Uphold the dignity, respect, and confidentiality of patients and their families in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with staffing needs and provide support to other departments as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred previous experience as a unit secretary or in a medical office environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and data entry.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  • Willingness to work full-time hours, including potential rotating shifts.
