PT Instructor for Transition and Work

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified instructor to teach courses in the Tools for Transition and Work (TTW) Program. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of disability support and be able to create an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Job Search Skills, Career Resources, Employment Issues, ADA and the Law, Job Training and Internship, Basic Computer Skills, Personal Development, and other vocational and educational classes for students with disabilities.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with disabilities.
- Evaluate and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Master's degree in Disability, Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
- 15 semester units or 22.5 quarter units of upper division or graduate study in Disability, including Learning Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, Deaf and Hearing Impaired, Physical Disabilities, or Adapted Computer Technology.
- Two years of teaching experience in an educational or vocational setting with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with assistive technology, such as text-to-speech, screen readers, and voice recognition.
- Knowledge of Universal Design principles and ability to implement them in the classroom.
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, Learning Disabilities, and emotional and behavioral disabilities.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
The successful candidate will work in an indoor office environment, with regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds is also required.
