Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Environmental Advocacy Coordinator to join our team at the Hoosier Environmental Council. As a key member of our advocacy team, you will be responsible for mobilizing state-level and localized action and involvement around key priorities of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legislative Work:
    • Gather and update information on current legislation, summaries, and action items to keep stakeholders informed.
    • Follow and share information regarding a broad range of legislation and local ordinances with a broader audience of our constituents and stakeholders.
  • Campaigns:
    • Develop and manage online issue campaigns that drive public engagement and support for our advocacy goals.
    • Organize in-person events and phone banking efforts to mobilize Hoosier voters and residents around priority issues.
  • Volunteers:
    • Recruit, train, and engage volunteers in advocacy efforts, ensuring they are informed and equipped to participate.
    • Manage the HEC's volunteer program and provide ongoing communication with volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Strong writing, speaking, and people skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and WordPress.
  • CRM software experience and familiarity with Meta Suites is desired.
